Pilots transport passengers, mail, or freight. They follow government and company regulations and keep records of the flight path, schedule times, altitude, fuel usage, weight, weather conditions, and other related information. Commercial pilots may act as pilot in command of any aircraft for which they hold a rating.

Commercial pilot: 18 years of age or older; be able to read, speak, write, and understand English; receive required logbook endorsement and training from an authorized instructor; pass required aeronautical knowledge and practical tests; meet aeronautical experience requirements; and hold at least a private pilot certificate.
