Water Treatment Facility Operators Control Treatment Plant Machines And Equipment That Purify Water For Human Consumption And For Industrial Use. There Are Six Grades Of Certification For Water Treatment Facility Operators: Grade C. Surface; Grade B. Surface; Grade A. Surface; Grade C. Well; Grade B. Well; And Grade A. Well. The Grades Are Established By The Classification Of The Water Treatment Facility They Operate. Public water facilities that are classified as surface, well, distribution or cross-connection are required to designate a certified operator in responsible charge that holds a valid certification equal to or greater than the facility’s classification.
