Courier Service Profession

Any person, firm, association, or corporation which for a fee or other valuable consideration transports or offers to transport from one place or point to another place or point documents, papers, maps, stocks, bonds, checks, or other small items of value which require expeditious services. Armed courier service guards shall be subject to the provisions of G.S. 74C-13.

18 years of age with a high school degree or equivalent; Be a US citizen or a resident alien (If not US Citizen, documentation verifying legal alien status); Be of good moral character with temperate habits (no criminal record (4) criminal background check; (5) one set of fingerprints; (6) five personal reference questionnaire forms; (7) if a Veteran, copy of DD214 or letter from commanding officer if currently in military; Education Fund Fee (one time new issuance only) and Fingerprint Card Fee

Exemptions

Does Not Include A Person Operating A Courier Service Business Pursant To A Motor Carrier Certificate Or Permit Issued By The N.C. Utilities Commission Which Grants Operating Rights For Such Business; However, Armed Courier Service Guards Shall Be Subject To The Provisions Of G.S.74C-13. {G.S.74C-3(4)}
