A Soil Additive Is Any Substance Intended For Changing The Characteristics Of Soil Or Other Growth Medium For The Purposes Of Increasing/Enhancing The Physical And Biological Properties. Every Soil Additive Distributed In North Carolina Shall Be Registered By The Person Whose Name Appears On The Label. The Letter Requesting Registration Should Include The Following: The Name And Address Of The Registrant; Product Name; Guaranteed Analysis; A. Active Ingredients (Name And Percent) Inert Ingredients (Name And Percent) Directions For Use; Purpose Of Product; The Label For The Product And All Advertisements Promoting The Product.

There Is No Form Available To Apply For This Registration; Instead A Letter Must Be Written And Accompanied By The Fee. Registration Expires On December 31 Of Each Year.
The Term "Soil Additive" Does Not Include Any Substance For Which Nutritional Claims Are Made, Such As, Commercial Fertilizers, Liming Materials, Or Unmanipulated Vegetable Or Animal Manures. It Also Specifically Does Not Include Rhizobial Inoculants, Pine Bark, Peat Moss, Other Unfortified Mulches, Or Pesticides.
