A Statement From The Owner Giving The Number Of Colonies, Amount Of Equipment, Proposed Date Of Entry, And Where The Bees And Equipment Will Be Located In The State (Location Must Be Approved In Advance By The State Apiarist). Permission For North Carolina Inspectors To Inspect At Any Time. A Permit May Also Be Granted For Used Equipment Without Bees.

Beekeepers May Register Their Bee Locations With NCDA In Order That They Be Notified By Aerial Pesticide Applicators Of Their Intent To Spray Anything Labeled Toxic To Bees. Fee Is $1.00 For Each Registration. A Permit And Application Is Needed For Anyone Wishing To Fumigate Beehives Or Apiary Equipment. A Bee Equipment Work Requisition Form May Be Submitted By Beekeepers To Request Fumigation Of Bee Equipment For Control Of Bee Diseases.
Colonies Of Honeybees Owned By Individuals Not Regularly In The Business Of Selling Bees May Be Sold Without Inspection And Health Certification. However, No One Shall Knowingly Sell Diseased Bees Or Contaminated Equipment.
