Other Requirements

A Handler Of Fruits And Vegetables Shall Not Enter Into A Written Contract With A Producer Until He Obtains A Written Permit From The Department Of Agriculture. Must Submit Two Copies Of Contract For Current Season And Proof Of A Bond Is Required. Handler Registration will change January 1 via S.L. 2018-113.

Exemptions

Peanuts And Corn Grown Under Contract For Seed Purposes. A farmer or group of farmers in the sale of fruits and vegetables produced by the farmer or group of farmers. A handler who pays at the time of purchase with US cash currency or a cash equivalent, such as a money order, cashier's check, wire transfer, electronic funds transfer, or PIN-based debit transaction, or a credit card. A restaurant. A retailer that sells fruits and vegetables to end-use consumers through retail establishments or food stands operated by the company, its affiliates, or subsidiaries.
